High carbon ferrochrome with typical chromium content of 62-65%, carbon of 6-8% and lump size of 10-60 mm. Supplied in jumbo bags with a minimum order quantity of 50 metric tonnes.
High carbon ferrochrome (HC FeCr) is an iron-chromium ferroalloy used as a chromium source in stainless steel, alloy steel and foundry production. Chromium contributes to corrosion, oxidation and heat resistance in the finished alloy, depending on its composition and production process.
Raimand offers high carbon ferrochrome in Grades A and B. Grade A has a typical chromium content of 62–65% and silicon below 2%, while Grade B has a typical chromium content of 60–62% and silicon of 3–4%. Both grades have a typical carbon content of 6–8% and a lump size of 10–60 mm. Refer to the individual grade tables for chemical composition and impurity limits.
The product is supplied in jumbo bags with a minimum order quantity of 50 metric tonnes. When requesting a quotation, specify your preferred grade, required chromium and carbon ranges, impurity limits, lump size, quantity and destination. Final specifications, packaging details and delivery terms should be agreed for each order.

Applications & suitability
High carbon ferrochrome is used as a chromium source in stainless steel, alloy steel and foundry production. Applications also include tool steels, heat-resistant and wear-resistant alloys, and alloy steel components for mining and cement equipment. The required carbon and silicon levels should be matched to the production route, including its decarburisation capability.
Stainless steel production
Chromium-bearing feedstock for stainless steel production where the carbon level suits the refining route.
Alloy and tool steels
Chromium additions for alloy steels and tool or die steel production, subject to the specified steel chemistry.
Foundry applications
Alloying material for chromium-bearing cast components with defined carbon and impurity limits.
Heat and wear resistant components
For suitable alloy steels and castings used in high-temperature service, mining and cement equipment.
